An article about her death and her obituary: Phenix Woman DOA at Hospital – A Phenix City woman was pronounced dead on arrival at Cobb Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon after she was found unconscious in her home by a neighbor. Mrs. Edna Dickerson Davis, 34, of 1900 S. 19th Ave., was pronounced dead at the hospital by Russell County coroner Lesley Vance. An autopsy will be performed, Vance said. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. She was an employee of the Russell County Department of Pensions and Securities. Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Grover C. Davis, Jr., Phenix City; a son, Eddie Carlton Cochran, and a daughter Jessie Carla Cochran, both of Phenix City; her mother, Mrs. G.C. Scroggs, Marietta, Ga., and two sisters.
