Her obituary: Lawrence – Funeral services were held Monday, September 5, 2005 at Memorial Park South Chapel for Alma Josephine Lawrence, age 71, of Flowery Branch. The Rev. Chuck Nation officiated. Interment was in Memorial Park South Cemetery. She died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following injuries from a car accident. Mrs. Lawrence was born in Cherokee County to the late Grandful and Myrtle Lee Hamby and was preceded in death by her husband, E. Swayne Lawrence. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Zelma Hamby and brother, Grandful Hamby Jr. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Flowery Branch. She was a member of the Homemakers Club. Survivors include her daughter, Winona Smith of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Renza and Wally Bryson of Jefferson; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Melissa Lawrence of Flowery Branch; brothers, David Hamby and wife Vesta of Acworth, Hoover and Pat Hamby of Acworth, Elisha and Shirley of Canton and Larkin and wife Betty of Acworth; nine grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorial Park South Funeral Home, Flowery Branch.
