Dr. John H. Brown, 71, of Woodstock, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Kennestone Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2010 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Gary Brown officiating. Entombment will follow in the Cherokee Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Dr. Brown was a retired Veterinarian, having previously owned Woodstock Veterinary Hospital and South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital. He was a member of the Woodstock Masonic Lodge # 246, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Diane Brown; children, Paul Brown and Gary (Rachel) Brown; grandchildren, Frances, Jared, Jennifer, Brittney, Charlotte, Margaret; great-granddaughter, Ava; several nieces and nephews.
