Her obituary: GANTT – Johnnie Ruth Gantt, 67, of Marietta, died Sunday November 11, 2007. Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, Marietta with Rev. Dr. Nelson Price officiating. Burial will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery, Marietta, Georgia. Mrs. Gantt was born in Cobb County and lived most of her life in Marietta. She was a graduate of Sprayberry High School and was co-owner of Hay-Gantt Funeral Home in Marietta. She worked with Little & Smith Insurance Company in Marietta for 17 years. Mrs. Gantt was a member of Roswell Street Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Gantt Tennant of Greenville, NC; two sons, John Gantt of Kennesaw; Jim Gantt of Marietta; her mother, Ruth Dickson of Hiram; two sisters, Carolyn Starke of Ivey; Betty Jo Watts of Dallas; two brothers, Wesley Price of Acworth; Ronnie Dickson of Hiram; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
