His obituary: Robert James Cain – October 14, 1941 - January 23, 2022 – Robert James (Bobby) Cain, 80, of Marietta passed away peacefully at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA, on January 23, 2022. Mr. Cain is preceded in death by his parents, Shannon and Juett Cain and his son Robert (Robbie) J. Cain, Jr. Surviving Mr. Cain are his wife of 55 years, Joy Louise;his daughter Kim Carey; grandsons Joshua (Josh) Scott Carey and Nicholas (Nick) Caleb Carey; sister-in-law Patsy Cain; niece Lori Wampler and nephew Lamar Cain; sisters-in-law Ebbie Dyer and Jo Niblett. Bob was born in Jasper, GA, and moved to Marietta when he was 3 years old. He graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1959 and attended Southern Tech. He then enlisted in the Georgia Army National Guard and was honorably discharged 6 years later. Mr. Cain owned and operated Cain Construction Company with his brother Billy, who also passed away this week on January 25, 2022. A visitation will be held this Saturday, January 29, from 11:00 to 1:00. A funeral service will follow immediately afterwards at 1:00.
