Elden Kendall. Elden died on October 15, 2019.
His obituary: Jarvis Elden Kendall – May 17, 1941 – October 15, 2019. After a short illness, Jarvis Elden Kendall passed from this life early Tuesday morning, October 15th, 2019. Mr. Kendall was the son of the late J. Avery Kendall and Ruth Berry Kendall of the Dawson and Lumpkin County areas. Kendall was the twelfth child of twelve children. His surviving siblings are Mr. Bobby Kendall and Mrs. Melva Lingerfelt.
Mr. Kendall graduated from Sprayberry High School where he enjoyed playing basketball on the school team. Joining the Army in 1961, he thrived, maturing into a tremendous soldier and individual. Upon his discharge in 1967, his commanding officer included a letter commending him for not only his service to his country but his future in any field he chose to pursue reentering civilian life. His character, quiet influence on others, and personal growth into a well-rounded individual would greatly benefit anyone he encountered or business he chose to join. Kendall first married the late Shelby Jean Hulsey in 1964 and is survived by two daughters Mrs. Debbie Helms of Jacksonville Florida area and Mrs. Jenna Williams of Cartersville Georgia. Kendall enjoyed several grandchildren and one great grandchild, gifts from these precious daughters. His love for University of Georgia Bulldogs has been a lifelong passionate enjoyment for him and traveling buddies to games in Athens and out of state for years. A quiet confidant individual, he set the bar high with his manner, giving spirit, selfless contributions to the lives of those he surrounded himself with or someone needing a boost back on their way. He wanted no spotlight, but sought a quiet corner watching his family and friends thrive in their own accomplishments or grow from stumbles they experienced. You never heard criticism, or negative remark from this man, never an inappropriate gesture, nor sharp tone. His patience with the foolishness of others was amazing although he enjoyed a hardy laugh with anyone. We were GIFTED to have known him and made him part of our family. Kendall leaves behind his wife, Sherry Hardy Kendall who has been his steadfast companion for years. His constant encouragement and influence upon her family has been a gift to the two adult children and three grandchildren he loved as his own.
Precious pup Charlie will miss him, but memories of Kendall will continue the endless ball toss and mischief, oh how he loved that sweet dog. [Southern Cremations & Funerals, Marietta, Ga.]
