Luther Hudson. Luther died on November 17, 2024.

His obituary: Edward Luther Hudson, November 20, 1941 – November 17, 2024. Edward Luther Hudson of Acworth, Georgia, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, November 17, 2024, just three days shy of his 83rd birthday. He was born on November 20, 1941, in Hollywood, Florida, to Edward Wayne Hudson and Ina Mae Ridlehoover Hudson. Luther, as he was known to family and close friends, grew up in the Marietta/Acworth area. He graduated from Sprayberry High School and went on to earn a degree from Georgia Tech. After a distinguished 40 1/2-year career at Lockheed Martin, he retired, having worked his way up from programming to management. Luther was a dedicated member of Mars Hill Presbyterian Church, where he had been active since 1992. He served in various roles, including elder, a Men's Bible Study teacher, and a volunteer at the church's food pantry. For over 10 years, he was part of a team that mowed the church grounds. Luther's life was a testament to servant leadership, and he was deeply committed to his faith and his community. An avid outdoorsman, Luther loved spending time in nature, whether hiking at Kennesaw Mountain or Mount Leconte, fishing at Lake Acworth, or kayaking with family. His passion for the outdoors was something he shared with his children and grandchildren, passing along his love for adventure and the beauty of God's creation. Luther is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Sue Gangwere Hudson, whose example of love and devotion was a shining testament to the strength of their marriage. He is also survived by his children: Michael Hudson (Dawn) and Michelle Hudson (Russell) Bowling, and his granddaughters, who were his pride and joy: Lauren Hudson, Kristen Hudson (Andrew) Roberson, and Grace Bowling. He is further survived by his brothers: Ronald (Linda) Hudson and Richard Hudson, as well as several cousins, nieces, and a nephew. Additionally, Luther is survived by his adopted son of 17 years, Alex Koome, whom he and Sue welcomed into their family through Kenya Connection Kids. Known for his kindness, generosity, and servant heart, Luther touched the lives of all who knew him. His legacy of faith, love, and commitment will continue to inspire his family, friends, and all who were blessed to have known him. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mars Hill Presbyterian Church (3385 Mars Hill Rd, Acworth, GA 30101) on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM. All are invited to a reception immediately following in the Fellowship Hall.
