Billy Tillery, 74, of Marietta, passed away December 24, 2016. He was born November 1, 1942 to parents, Ruby Stephenson Tillery and Billy S. Tillery in Rome, Georgia. Billy was a graduate of Sprayberry High School, class of 1960. Following graduation he served in the United States Army. After leaving the army he received degrees from Southern Tech as well as the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Billy had a career spanning 30 years with BellSouth. He was a charter member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta. Billy was passionate about his blog, theindwelling.com. He is survived by, his wife of 50 years, Patricia Brown Tillery; son, David Scott (Pamela) Tillery; daughter, Cathy Tillery (Darren A.) Hamrick; grandchildren, Dylan and Sophia Tillery, Grace, Peyton, and Gavin Hamrick; brother, Kenneth R. Tillery; and mother in law, Irene Brown. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Billy's memory to Right From the Heart (rightfromtheheart.org), or to In Touch Ministry (intouch.org). Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11:00AM. The Tillery family will be receiving guests one hour prior to the service.
