Her obituary: Elaine Pilgrim Lovett, June 26, 1942 – July 25, 2024. Elaine Pilgrim Lovett, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 25, 2024. Born on June 26, 1942, Elaine lived a life filled with love, dedication, and joy. Elaine is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Doug Lovett Sr., and her beloved children Tommy Barnett, Tracie Blanton, Todd Lovett and Doug Lovett Jr. and stepdaughter Lisa Smith. Her legacy is further carried on by her treasured grandchildren, Jack Smith, Layna Lovett, and Aliya Lovett. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Wayman and Hettie Pilgrim, her sister, Shirley Malpass, and her grandson, Jeffrey Blanton. Their memories remain a source of comfort and strength for those who knew and loved her. Elaine dedicated over 30 years to a successful career in accounting at Lucent Technologies. Her professional accomplishments were matched only by her passions outside of work. A lover of shopping, dining out, and beach trips, Elaine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She spent the part of her retirement joyfully babysitting her grandchildren and the children of friends, sharing her warmth and wisdom with those around her. Elaine's kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed. Her family and friends remember her as a source of strength. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. Elaine Pilgrim Lovett touched many lives with her generosity and spirit, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 11:00 am. The service will be officiated by Chaplin Martha Jackson at Kennesaw Memorial Park (1306 Whitlock Avenue Marietta, GA).
