Passed Away on July 20, 2022. George Howard Hicks, age 80, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on July 20th, 2022. He was born in 1942 to Charles Martin Hicks and Evelyn Ponder Hicks. He graduated from Sprayberry High School, then joined the Navy and served as a corpsman. He served as a police officer with the Marietta Police Department and went on to work as a physician's assistant. In his spare time, he enjoyed Braves baseball, bird watching, and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. Howard is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Edward Martin Hicks, Becky Ann Dilbeck, and Margie Lee Hicks. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Evelyn Clay Hicks. He is also survived by brothers Charlie and Mike, 4 children, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. The family will receive guests between the hours of 5-7 pm on July 22, 2022 at HM Patterson Funeral Home (1157 Old Canton Rd, Marietta GA 30062). A funeral/memorial service will be held at HM Patterson Funeral Home at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 23, 2022. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation to Roswell Street Baptist Church or St. Jude's Hospital.
