His obituary: Jerry D. Allen. June 17, 1941 – January 23, 2024. Acworth – Mr. Jerry Donald Allen age 82 of Acworth departed this life Tuesday January 23, 2024. Mr. Allen was born in Calhoun, Georgia to his parents, Samuel and Dorothy Allen. Jerry enjoyed golf, fishing, playing cards, watching old movies, reading, baseball, football and bowling. Jerry was a member of The Canterbury Golf Club in Marietta as well as the Cartersville Country Club. Mr. Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Dorothy Allen, siblings, Jackie D. Allen, Frankie Allen, Shirey A. Knighton. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years Anne P. Allen, children, Donna A. Valore (Mark), Andew T. Allen (April) and brother, Phillip W. Allen, grandchildren Lance Dillbeck, Josiah A. Dilbeck, Daniel J. Dilbeck, Emmanuel D. Allen, Elijah T. Allen, and great granddaughters, Lily Anne Dilbeck and Kaitlyn N. Dilbeck. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Jerry Allen will be Saturday January 27th at 3pm in the chapel of Poole Funeral Home with Pastor Pete Smith officiating. The family will meet with friends for visitation from 1PM until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or Shriners Childrens hospital in memory of Mr. Allen.
