His obituary: Melvin "MO" Owen Chappell, September 12, 1942 – JULY 4, 2019. Melvin Mo Owen Chappell, age 76, of Acworth, Georgia passed away on Thursday July 4, 2019. Melvin Mo was born September 12, 1942. He was loving and devoted husband to his wife Lynda Richey Chappell, for 55 years. Loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather Poppa , and great grandfather. Melvin Mo enjoyed his family time, playing & watching golf, boating, camping, playing cards with all his friends, and spending time with the gang . He was such 'a jack of all trades', if something was broke, he would always find away to fix it. Family and his friends meant everything to Melvin Mo . Melvin Mo retired from Lockheed in 1998, where he worked over 25 years. He also worked many years at Three Way Campers. Melvin Mo is survived by his wife, Lynda Richey Chappell; son Mark Chappell, daughters: Sandra Garrison (Marshall Garrison) and Connie McAnally (Doug McAnally); brothers: Edgar E. Gene Chappell, Robert E. Bob Chappell, sister: Myra Fowler (Robert Bob Fowler); four grandchildren: Meagan Garrison Keen (Duane Keen), Kayla Suezann Garrison, Jake McAnally, Amy Kendrick (Darren Kendrick), five great grandchildren: Allison, Scarlett, Kaylin, Dawson, Sawyer, nieces & nephews: Sheryl Fowler, Larry Chappell (Phyllis), Wanda Chappell Smith, Mike Chappell (Donna), Robbie Chappell, Maleeia Chappell Black (Ron) and many great nieces and nephews. Melvin Mo is preceded in death by his parents: Luther E. and Juanita Johnson Chappell and his sister-in-law, Eloise Chappell. A visitation for Melvin Mo will be held Monday, July 8, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, Georgia. Graveside service will be Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 10:00 am at Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1360 Whitlock Ave., Marietta. There will be a procession from Winkenhofer at 9:15 to Kennesaw Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Melvin Mo's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
