His obituary: Norman Earl Corey, May 4, 1942 ~ November 18, 2015 (age 73) 73 Years Old. Services for Norman Earl Corey, 73, will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Lexington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Weston Pendergrass and Rev. Spencer Cary officiating. Memorials may be made to LICS 216 Harmon Street Lexington, SC 29072. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium Lexington Chapel is assisting the family. Mr. Corey passed away Thursday, November 18, 2015. Born in Canton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Norman and Phyllis Corey. He moved with his parents to Marietta, Georgia in the early 1950s. He graduated from Sprayberry High School, developed the Dunmovin neighborhood in the late 60s to early 70s, and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Kennesaw, Georgia. He was also a member of the Marietta Chapter Lions International until relocating to Lexington, South Carolina in the late 1970s. He became an active member of the Lexington Chapter of Lions International where he served as president, and was active in the Lexington Civitan Club. He worked in the auto collision industry and started Coreys of Lexington, Inc. in 1988. He semi retired from Coreys in 2000 and has been at his hobby and craft of classic car restoration until present. Survivors include his wife, Karen McDaniel Corey, son, Norman Paul Corey (Cathy), daughter, Cheryl Gayton (Freddie), step-son, David Workman (Christie), step-daughter, Meghan Field, brothers, Don (Marylin), and Sam Corey, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
