His obituary: Rev. Robert Dwain Mr. Bob Holcomb, February 17, 1943 – March 31, 2013. Rev. Robert Dwain Mr. Bob Holcomb, age 70, of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013. He was born on February 17, 1943, in Cobb County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Julius Newton Holcomb and Elizabeth Rainey Holcomb. Mr. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy Anderson Holcomb; son, Matthew Newton Holcomb; daughter and son-in-law, Molly Elizabeth Holcomb Edwards and Jon; two grandchildren, Andrew Arencibia and Elizabeth Arencibia; and brothers, Gene Holcomb (Ann), Gerald Gordy, and Owen Gordy. He is preceded in death by his father, Julius Newton Holcomb, who died while serving during World War II, and mother, Elizabeth Rainey Holcomb. The funeral service for Rev. Robert Dwain Mr. Bob Holcomb will be conducted on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Two o'clock in the afternoon in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown with Mr. John Kelley, Mrs. Tish Moore, Rev. Sammy Stephens, and Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow with Fire Fighter Honors given by the local Fire Department Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted as well as donations to Heyman Hospice, First Baptist Family Life Center Program, or Lake Creek Fire Department #9. The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from five o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home. Rev. Holcomb's body will lie in state at the First Baptist Church for one hour prior to the funeral service. The following gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers: Wayne Beck, Sam Branch, Glenn Fraiser, Todd Hice, Dennis Phillips, Travis Ragsdale, Ron Ray, and Ralph Whatley. Honorary Pallbearers will consist of all volunteers for the Family Life Center, including those who have worked in the Control Center, Sports, Day Camps, AWANA, or any and all past Family Life Center programs; as well as the First Baptist Church Staff, Triple L , the First Baptist Church Deacons, and all Polk County Volunteer Fire Departments.
