His obituary: Mr. David H. New, 68, of Cave Spring, formerly of Marietta died Sunday. Mr. New was a native of Cobb County, a graduate of Sprayberry High School, and owned and operated D&L Landscaping. Survivors include his wife, the former Linda Brown; two daughters, Jill and Danny McLean, and Windi and Robby Corn, and six grandchildren, all of Cave Spring; his brother-in-law, Jack and Judy Brown, Marietta, and sister-in-laws Sara Brown, Shirley and Don Miller, Irene Brown and Ann Brown, all of Marietta; Sue Chapman of Powder Springs, Judy Brown of Cartersville and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the West Rome Baptist Church in Rome with Rev. Jarrod Roberts and Rev. Chris Lodge officiating. Interment will follow in the Round Hill Cemetery in Cave Spring. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Mr. New will lie in state at the church Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. John House's Cave Spring Chapel Funeral Home, 706-777-3318.
