Her obituary: Mary Greer (Boyd) Alford, January 1, 1943 ~ February 25, 2018 (age 75). Mary Greer Boyd Alford, 75, went to be with the Lord February 25, 2018. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, officiated by Pastor Daniel Hawtree. Greer was born in Quitman, Georgia on January 1, 1943 to the late Mary Lou Yates Boyd and William Greer Boyd, Sr. She grew up in Marietta, Georgia and graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1962. She went to work for The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta and then Lockheed airplane manufacturers. She moved to Forsyth County with her family in the mid-70s, where she spent the majority of her life caring for and raising her children. Later in her life she went to work at Dillards and then Belk at Hanes Mall.
Some of the things she loved most were her family, cooking, dogs, and especially her grandchildren. Greer could often be found enjoying a Hallmark movie. She really enjoyed holidays with her family, but most of all, Christmas time. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, George Stephenson Stephen Bridges, Jr. Survivors include: husband Patrick Burch Alford of the home; daughter Mary Frances Bridges Eskew and David; stepsons, Patrick Alford, Jr. and Susan and Darrin Alford and Catherine; daughter-in-law, Lisa Gonzalez Bridges; grandchildren, Sean Bridges, Isabella Bridges, Tyler Bridges, Anna Eskew, Turner Eskew, Kaylee Alford, and Emma Alford; sister, Lisa Boyd Caddell and Larry; brother, William Bill Boyd, Jr. and Rita; several nieces and nephews, and many extended family and friends.
