His obituary: Mr Raymond Lee Majors, 71. Majors, Raymond Lee Mr. Raymond Lee Majors, 71, of Cartersville, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Born in Cobb County, August 26, 1941, he was the son of the late James Walter Majors and the late Irene Ward Majors. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, James W. Majors, Jr. Mr. Majors was of the Methodist Faith and was a member of the American Legion. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy as a Parachute Packer and also in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was an outdoors man enjoying both hunting and fishing. Survivors include his daughters, Marcia Taylor of Waters, Michigan and Mary Mitchell of Marietta; one sister, Shelby Gasaway of Cartersville; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
