His obituary: Richard Clamon, 53, former Marietta resident. Richard Clamon, 53, of Woodstock, formerly of Marietta, died Friday, Jan. 30. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at East Cobb Church of Christ, with Ken Chaffin and Garland Basford officiating. Burial will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. S. Maryville, Tenn., native, Mr. Clamon came to Marietta in 1951 and graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1962. He graduated from Georgia State in 1971 with a business degree and was a member of the Church of Christ. He also was a member of the Georgia Home Builders Association. He was self-employed as a residential builder.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Chenault Clamon; two daughters, Alicia C. Spratt and Susanne C. O'Brien, both of Woodstock; his mother, Faye D. Clamon of Woodstock; one brother, Joseph Clamonn of Atlanta; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. [Marietta Daily Journal, February 1, 1998, pg. 3B]
