On Thursday March 4, 2021 John Robert O'Dell, loving father and grandfather passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice in Cumming, Ga.surrounded by his 3 daughters. John was born October 11, 1944 in Clarkesville, Georgia and grew up in Marietta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father John Bryant O'Dell, mother Rebecca Gribble O'Dell, brother Roy Carl O'Dell and wife Linda Kay Davis. John was survived by his 3 daughters, Wyn Motter, Valerie Friedman & Shay Torbert; 7 Grandchildren Deac, Tucker and Karsen Motter, Gray and Georgia Torbert & Grier and Audrey Friedman, his first wife of 46 years Bronwyn Smith O'Dell & sister Sue Lynn Barfield and numerous cousins.
John graduated from Sprayberry High School 1963 and Auburn University 1969 and had a long career in the home building and real estate industry. Anyone who knew John knew of his overwhelming pride for his 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren and his unwavering loyalty to Auburn. His quick wit, kind heart and deep love for his friends and family made him unforgettable. After a 5 month health battle he knew it was time to leave this earth and rest easy with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He will be missed terribly by so many.
