Nolan Kent. Nolan died on January 20, 2016.
His obituary: Nolan Kent – Nolan Roy Kent, 72, Crystal River, FL, formerly Acworth, GA, born June 7, 1944, died January 20, 2017 in Woodstock, GA. Nolan graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1962. He served in the US Navy/Reserves from 1966-1971. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Nolan worked at Anderson Chevrolet and Ed Voyles Oldsmobile. The last 30 year of his working life, he was head mechanic at Marietta Lanes, Northeast Plaza Lanes and Village Lanes. He was a skilled mechanic and helped out at several bowling centers in the metro and Rome, GA areas. If he could see it run, he could repair it. Nolan was a devoted family man and always considered his wife and son to be the most important people in his life. Blessed with his grandson in his later years, he loved him completely. He helped and supported family and neighbors all through the years. Preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Inez Kent and his brother, Ronnie Lee Kent. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Lynn Woodard Kent, son, John Philip Kent (Karen Putney), grandson, Preston Liam Kent, brother, Donald Kent (Linda), uncle, Joe Kent (Lillian), aunt Mary Kent, and Sister-in-Law, Peggy Woodard Narramore, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Nolan was an avid golfer and bowler during his life and coached youth leagues and others who came to him for help. He and his wife road Goldwing Motorcycles all over United States covering 38 of our 50 states. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, 12050 Crabapple Rd, Roswell, GA 30075. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, GA 30114. Family will receive visitors at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, prior to service and Tuesday, January 24, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Private family viewing will be at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
