Arthur Cochran. Arthur died on January 5, 2000.

His obituary: Arthur N. Cochran Jr., 55, Purple Heart recipient. Arthur N. Cochran JR., 55, of Woodstock, formerly of Marietta, died Wednesday, January 5, 2000. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Medford-Peden Funeral Home in Marietta, with the Rev. Jerry A. Gladson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville. A Cartersville native, Mr. Cochran served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf cluster. He was employed by General Motors Corp. in Doraville before serving in the Army. Mr. Cochran was a graduate of Sprayberry High School in Marietta and a member of First Christian Church in Marietta. Survivors include two sons, Brian Cochran of Smyrna and Shane Cochran of Douglasville; three daughters, Amy Tyson of Acworth and Stacie Noseworthy and Mary Cochran, both of Douglasville; his stepmother, Doris L. Cochran of Marietta; two sisters, Susan Comette of Denver, Colo., and Mary Moon of Marietta; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
