Bill Lovett. Bill died on October 19, 2006.

His obituary: William (Bill) Truman Lovett, 61, of Smyrna went home to be with the Lord October 19, 2006. Bill died unexpectedly in his sleep early Thursday morning. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, October 23, 2006 from the Medford-Peden Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas M. Lovett, officiating. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery in Cherokee County. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-9 P.M. and Monday form 11-1 P.M. at the funeral home. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Truman Honor and Susan (Watters) Lovett and infant son, Bart Lovett. Bill was born 26 July 1945 in Detroit, MI where he spent the first four years of his life, moving to Marietta, GA about 1949. He attended Elizabeth Grammar School & Sprayberry High School graduating in 1963; also attending the Southern School of Pharmacy in Cleveland GA for 3 years and the Antioch Bible College in Marietta. He was inducted into the United States Army on November 22, 1966, taking his basic training at Fort Benning, GA. He served with the 101st Screaming Eagles and was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division serving in Vietnam as a paramedic. He completed his education as a Medical Corpsman at Fort Sam Houston Texas in 1967. He received the National Defense Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He received an honorable discharge on 8 Sept 1968. Bill loved his wife, his family, his bible and Jesus. Bill was a devoted husband and father. He was joined in holy matrimony to Wanda Kay Bowden on March 27, 1971 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA with the Honorable Martin Luther King, Sr. officiating. Wanda was his African Queen and he was her Snow Prince. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Wanda Kay Lovett; sons, Lance Ezra (Jennifer) Lovett of Kennesaw, Travis Nathanael Lovett of Smyrna; daughters, Starr Esther Lovett and Carman Antoinette Lovett, both of Marietta, GA and Amanda Celest Lovett (Appolinar) Rodriguez of Acworth, GA; brother, Thomas Moses (Karen) Lovett of Ellijay, GA; sisters, Toby Jane (Jim) Davis of Little Mountain, SC, Nancie (Charley) Whitfield-Dubard and Rebecca Elizabeth (Bill) Gronenthal, both of Marietta, GA; his beloved aunt, Elizabeth Bening, Dearborne, MI and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
