Her obituary: Mary Ruby Jones, October 31, 1945 – March 19, 2025. Mary Ruby Jones, 79, of Simpsonville, SC, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Born in Marietta, GA, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Webb Holcombe, Jr. and Nell B. Holcombe. She was a faithful member of Second Presbyterian Church in Greenville, and cherished her many beloved church friends and family. For 8 years, she worked as a CNA. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to gospel music, traveling, cooking, working crossword puzzles, and attending her grandsons' ballgames. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David P. Jones; and a brother, Arthur Sonny Holcombe, III. Mary is survived by her two sons, David B. Ostrom and W. Bruce Ostrom (Jennifer); sister, Sandra Anne Remorenko; three grandchildren, W. Micah Ostrom, William B. Ostrom, and Joshua W. Ostrom; several nephews; and a niece.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in Beaufort National Cemetery with the Rev. Alex Mark officiating.
