His obituary: Thomas Eugene Dunn, November 6, 2022. Thomas Eugene Dunn, age 77, of Austell passed away November 6, 2022. Tommy was born in Smyrna to Henry and Lois Dunn, and grew up in Whitesburg, then moved to Marietta at age 13. As a teen, he lived across the street from his would-be sweetheart, Rebecca Sue Petty, and the two married in 1968.
Tommy was a hard worker and worked as an Electrician for Georgia Power for 40 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed working in the yard, watching the Braves, and enthralling his family with reruns of old Westerns. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, David Dunn Carolyn Blair, and Janet Price. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rebecca Sue Dunn; children, Hope Garvin (husband, Scott) of Temple, Kimberly Faith Dunn of Smyrna, and William Todd Dunn (wife, Lillian) of Fairburn; siblings, Martha Jean Grogan (husband, Calvin) of Acworth, Jerry Dunn (wife, Linda) of Rydal, and Kenny Dunn (wife, Debbie) of Woodstock; grandson, Nolan; and many beloved extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12th, 12:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Pastor Calvin Grogan officiating. Interment will follow the service at Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM before the service.
