Her obituary: Brenda (Abernathy) Nelson, April 11, 1946 – January 14, 2016 (age 69). Brenda Nelson, 69 of Madison, died January 14, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born April 11, 1946 in Roswell. Her parents were Felton and Inez Cagle. She graduated from Sprayberry High School in Marietta in 1964. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia College with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education in 1994. Ms. Nelson taught four-year old Sunday School for over 20 years at First United Methodist Church Dublin. She also taught Kindergarten there as well as at the Headstart in Dublin. She spent 10 years teaching at Sprayberry Academy in Marietta. Ms. Nelson was a member of the Dublin Service League, the Pink Ladies Auxiliary and a bridge club. Ms. Nelson is survived by her children, Ashley Brown and Jason, Bill Nelson and Kerri Bradley and Tres Nelson and Shannon. Her grandchildren are Noah, Colby, EmmaClaire and Brooks Brown, James and Clark Nelson and Johnny Bradley. She also leaves two brothers, Andy Abernathy and Vicky and Danny Abernathy and Joyce, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
