Louise Day McCord, born on September 16, 1946, in Marietta, GA, to Herbert and Johnnie Lou Day (Barfield) joined Don McCord, her beloved spouse of fifty five years, on October 30th, 2022. She and Don met while working at Lockheed Martin in 1964 and were married on September 10th, 1965. Louise loved gardening, reading, and antiquing. She especially loved to travel, whether yearly family vacations or extended trips with Don. Her most favorite area was Vienna, Austria, because The Sound of Music was filmed there. She took pride in being well dressed; Chicos will miss her dreadfully. She had an extraordinary green thumb; her grandmother's antique rose bush is still thriving after decades. She is survived by her children, Donna Spokes (Rick) and Scott McCord (Ashley), two cherished grandchildren, her sister, Helen Glass, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services to honor the life of Louise McCord will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Piedmont Road Church of Christ, 1630 Piedmont Road, Marietta GA 30066 from 2-3 pm with a visitation before from 1-2 pm and after from 3-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to the American Heart Association in Louise's name.
