Her obituary: Clara Mae Brown Ennis, September 25, 1947 – April 27, 2023. On Thursday, April 27, 2023, heaven gained a sweet angel, Clara Mae Brown Ennis, 75, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away after a long hard fought battle. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00pm Thursday, May18th at Dry Creek Church, 150 Dry Creek Rd., Kingston, GA 30145. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00pm prior to the service with Rev. Landon Hamby officiating. Clara was a native of Marietta and a lifelong member of N.E. Piney Grove Church of Marietta. Clara and her husband Frank lived in Adairsville for many years, and retired in Port Charlotte, FL. Clara was a 1965 graduate of Sprayberry High School. She worked for many years as a loan officer, most recently at Countrywide Mortgage, Inc. She loved her family, and always talked about her granddaughter and her many accomplishments. She also loved her grand nieces and nephews as her own whom she was also extremely proud of. She was an avid fan and cheered them on with all their sporting activities. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help. Rescuing animals was something she was very passionate about, as she would even stop on the side of the road to save a turtle from being hit. She had a great love of all animals, and she had many dogs, cats, and horses. If she saw a dog had been abandoned, she would be the first to pick it up and take it home. Preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Ray and Geneva Brown; sister, Cindy Brown Reece. She is survived by her husband, Frank Ennis of Port Charlotte, FL; son, Brett (Ashley) Silvey of Calhoun, GA; step-son Dale (Caroline) Ennis; granddaughter, Briana Silvey of Calhoun; special niece, Melissa (Tommy) Porter and their children, Mya and Westin; special nephew, Cody (Meghan) Reece and children, McKaiden, McKya, Derris, Danyon, Kinzie Griffin, Bentley West; her sweet dog Boca.
