Terrell, Jr. (Gary ) passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 77 years old. Wendell is survived by his wife, Patricia Terrell, his son, Todd Terrell, his daughter, Tammi Terrell Hurley, and daughter-in-law Andrea Terrell. He is preceded in death by his son, Tracy Terrell. He is also survived by his 2 brothers, Johnny and Alan Terrell, and his 6 grandchildren: Tyler, Garron, Hailey, Molly, Mickey, and Tricia. He loved his family dearly. Wendell was born on March 6, 1947, in Atlanta, GA to Wendell G. Terrell, Sr. and Mary Jane Terrell. He went to Sprayberry High School and attended the University of North Georgia prior to becoming a Cobb County firefighter in 1970. He served with the fire department for 30 years. A man of many talents, Wendell also studied law, and was an electrician who had his own business, W.T. Electric. Wendell was extremely passionate about his time as fire chief, and his utmost priority was his wife and family. He was a self-taught master woodworker who could build anything he put his mind to. Wendell loved going to Disney World; he could maneuver his way around the Disney parks without a map, by memory alone. Wendell's family remembers him as a kind, selfless person who taught them what it means to be a devoted man and family member. He was loving, honest, and witty. He had the ability to solve any problem set in front of him. Wendell put others before himself, and he was a simple, wise man of few words. You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. Mark 10:45. All are welcome to celebrate Wendell's life as he is honored for his service as a fire chief. The funeral is scheduled for Sunday, September 22, 2024. Funeral services will be held at: Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta, 1130 Whitlock Ave NW, Marietta, GA 30064. The family will receive friends from 12 PM to 1 PM before the service and the service begins at 1:00pm in the Chapel. Please join us for the burial to follow at Riverview Memorial Park: 5411 S. Cobb Dr. SE, Smyrna, Georgia 30080. *Every month, Wendell sent money to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
