Her obituary: Gayle Lee, June 2, 1947 – April 23, 2019. Mrs. Gayle Maloney Lee, age 71, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at Ashbrook Village in Villa Rica, Georgia. Gayle was born in Marietta, Georgia on June 2, 1947, the daughter of the late Fred Marvin Maloney, Sr. and Emma Louise Chumley Maloney. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Gayle had a long, successful career having worked in the medical field for a number of years and later as a stock broker. She also managed her husband's law office after they were married. She loved the outdoors and gardening. Gayle led a very active lifestyle with her power walking two miles a day and playing tennis. As a community activist, she was instrumental in blocking efforts to convert Stockmar Field into a high-traffic regional airport and thwarting a proposed asphalt plant on Liberty Road, while helping achieve acquisition of the of the old Fullerville Ballpark to expand city-owned recreation facilities. Her proudest accomplishment in the public arena was stopping the proposed condemnation of her elderly parents' Cobb County home and land by redirecting the Cobb County School Board to more suitable adjacent land which was for sale and which now is the location of Allatoona High School and a county elementary school. She was a member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Carrollton, Georgia. She is survived by her husband, Cary Theodore Teddy Lee of thirty three years, brother, Todd Maloney and brother-in-law, Tommy Arnold, Acworth, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Todd Maloney officiating and Teddy Lee serving as Eulogist. Gayle also had a love of animals and was known for adopting numerous different animals during her lifetime.
