His obituary: S.W. Blanton – Stanley Wilford Blanton, 27, of 860 Franklin Road, SE, Apt 133, Marietta, died Wednesday in Monticello, Ga. Funeral services were 3 p.m. Friday at Piedmont Baptist Church in Marietta, Rev. Walton L. MacMillan, Rev. James A. Budd and Rev. Clifton C. Duvall officiated. Burial was in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Blanton was a native of Cherokee County, Ga. where he lived during his early life. He had been living in Marietta since 1959. He was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church and was the manager of the MMM Liquor Store in Marietta. He was a member of the Marine Corps Reserve.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Glynda Gilbert Blanton of Marietta, one daughter, Miss Kellie Blanton of Woodstock, Ga., parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Earl Blanton of Marietta, one brother, Carroll Blanton of Marietta, maternal grandmother, Mrs. Annie Belle Henderson of Canton, Ga. Mayes Ward Funeral Home in Marietta is in charge of arrangements.
