His obituary: F.M. Wilson – Francis Marion Wilson III, 20, 1221 Tiberland Drive, SE, Marietta, died Wednesday while scuba diving in Ocala, Fla. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at John Knox Presbyterian Church with Rev. Murdoch McK. Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park at 3 p.m. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Joint graveside rites will be held at 3 p.m. [for] Mr. Wilson and Christopher M. Ferrell. Mayes Ward Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include parents Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Wilson Jr.; four sisters, Misses Susie, Janice, Judy and Rebecca Wilson; a brother, David Wilson all of Marietta; maternal grandmother, Mrs. David Lyle, Atlanta and paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Wilson, Wakima, Wash. Mr. Wilson was a native of Wakima, Wash., and had been living in Marietta for the past 16 years. He was a graduate of Sprayberry High School and was an aeronautical student at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. The family has requested that flowers be omitted and contributions be sent to the Francis M. Wilson III Scholarship Fund for Beyond High School, 184, Shepard St., NE, Marietta.
