Her obituary: Kay Orr Chegwidden, September 8, 1948 – August 4, 2022. Kay Orr Chegwidden, age 73, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on August 4, 2022 following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born at Emory Hospital in Atlanta on September 8, 1948. Kay was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always took the time to call and check in on her many loved ones. She earned a Masters in Education and loved her years of teaching gifted children. She also enjoyed Bible studies, crafting, and embroidery. Kay spent many years as an active member of First Baptist of Marietta and most recently has been a faithful steward and member of Mount Paran Church of God. Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn and Henry Orr, and her brother Lynn Orr. She is survived by her husband, Bill Chegwidden, and her children Chad (Lisa) Chegwidden, Ashlie (Jeff) Grubb, Emilie (Chad) Hayes, and Adam (Whitney) Chegwidden as well as her sister Jane (Todd) Hughes and her family. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Amy Chegwidden, James Chegwidden, Will Grubb, Lily Grubb, Johnny Grubb, Mary Mead Hayes, Cal Hayes, and Avery Grace Chegwidden. The family also wishes to thank her good friend and primary caregiver Cynthia Roberts, and also Harriet Wambui and Faith Nduta.
