Her obituary: Sherry Lynn Bartley, May 15, 1948 – April 15, 2024. Sherry Lynn Bartley of Marietta, Georgia passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at the age of 75 from complications of COPD. She was born in Marietta on May 15, 1948, to her late parents Louise Marshall and Willard Bartley. She has now been reunited with her beloved mother Louise and all her loving family who preceded her in death. Sherry is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Judy and Robert Kitchens and nephews Justin Kitchens, Drew Kitchens and wife Bethany, plus niece Audrey Govekar and husband Chris, two grandnephews Ben and David and three grandnieces Chloe, Emmeline, and Esther. Additionally, she is survived by a multitude of cousins and dear friends. Sherry loved her family and friends well and enjoyed cooking and baking. She was an avid reader, a collector of books, and enjoyed beach trips with the family. Sherry also loyally loved her North Georgia College friends who became her extended family. She was a 1966 graduate of Sprayberry High School and attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega. She held several jobs and last worked for Cobb DOT for over 20 years as a traffic analyst. The family will have a celebration of life at 2:00 pm Saturday April 27, 2024, at Mayes Ward Dobbins Historic Marietta Chapel. A time of visitation and reception will precede the service at 1:00 pm at which time the church family will be providing some of Sherry's favorite treats she loved to bake.
