His obituary: Howard Cook, March 13, 2021. Howard Jennings Budda Cook, Jr., 73, of Marietta, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5-8PM at Marietta Funeral Home 915 Piedmont Rd., Marietta, GA 30066. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Wednesday, March 17th in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Phillips, Sr. officiating. A Private interment will be held. He will be laid to rest beside his mother at Mountain View Cemetery. Mr. Cook was born November 17, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia to Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Evelyn Osborne) Jennings Cook, Sr.. He lived most of his life in Cobb county. A 1967 graduate of Sprayberry high school and a 1978 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. A longtime member of St. Andrews UMC in Marietta. Mr. Cook was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, a Master Mason and member of Acworth Lodge#176 F&AM, he was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason Valley of Atlanta, member of the Yaarab Temple Atlanta, member of the Kennesaw Mountain Shrine Club serving as the 2003 president and numerous jobs including, Colonel of the Motor Corps Unit. He received Shriner of the year in 1998. Mr. Cook was a licensed funeral director and embalmer serving and working in numerous local funeral homes since 1963. He served, as director of the Emory University Donor Anatomy Program. Survived by his wife Martha Bannister Cook, of Marietta; sons, Jimmy Cook of Marietta; Perry (Dawn) Cook of Gainesville; grandchildren, Lawson Kennedy Cook, Austin Jennings Cook and Karrington Alene Cook. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Yaarab Temple Hospital Fund c/o Kennesaw Memorial Shrine (KMSC) P.O. Box 196 Marietta, GA 30061.
