October 20, 1950 – March 14, 2020. Martha Jo Buchanan Dalton, age 69, of Marietta GA passed peacefully into her well-earned life with the God who created her in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 14, 2020. Jo was born October 20, 1950 in Carrollton, Georgia and was the daughter of Horace Robert Buchanan and Hazel Gilley Buchanan. Jo was gifted with a very creative mind. She possessed the proverbial green thumb coveted by so many and happily enjoyed digging in the dirt and coaxing plants to burst from the ground. That same creative mind spent many contented hours sewing, quilting and doing crochet work. For all her talents, though, Jo was most known and loved for her gentle heart and unselfish soul. I Corinthians 16:14 tells us Let all you do be done with love . She will certainly be remembered with loving admiration for living out that verse of scripture by her kind spirit, welcoming smile, and her unconditional love for her God and her family. Jo was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Buchanan. She is survived by her devoted children Timothy Craig Jones and his wife Tammy Jones, Steven Douglas Jones and his wife Donna Jones, Leslie Martha McCoy and her husband Jermekia McCoy and Crystal Lee Carter. She adored and was adored by her 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her surviving siblings are Patsy Arnold and Teresa (and husband Harold) Holt. Her family will have private services.
