His obituary: Herman Terry Smith, October 1, 1949 – March 8, 2020. Herman Terry Smith, age 70 of Jasper, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at his residence. The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 11th from 4-8pm. The funeral will be on Thursday, March 12th at 1pm in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Rev. Ruben Smith officiating. Interment will be held Saturday, March 14th at 4pm at Arlington Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Ophelia Smith and his brother, Lee Roy Smith and his brother-in-law,Tom Sutton. He is survived by: Wife – Rebecca D. Smith; Son – Bobby Lee Smith; Daughter – Anitra Smith; Granddaughter – Erin and Roy Bissell; Great-Grandkids – Shawn and Aria; Step-Son – Derrick and Jessica Smith; Grandkids – Abbie, Brandon, and Chase; Brothers – Charles and Linda Smith, Ruben and Connie Smith; Sister-In-Law – Marie Smith; Sisters – Elizabeth Sutton, Juanita and Bonnie Parrish; Numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive. Mr. Smith was a veteran that served in the U.S. Air Force and Retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Kennesaw, Ga. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105, or, Tigers for Tomorrow, 708 Co. Road 345, Attalla, AL. 35954, or, Amedisys Hospice Care, 4255 Wade Green Road, N.W., Suite 320, Kennesaw, Ga. 30144 in his memory.
