Robert Danny Standridge, June 10, 1951 – November 10, 2013. R. D. Danny Standridge, June 10, 1951 – November 10, 2013. Mr. R.D Standridge, 62, a native of Smyrna Georgia departed this life on Sunday, November 10, 2013. Mr. Standridge passed in route to the hospital, suffered heart trouble. Mr. Standridge played basketball and baseball for Sprayberry High School and was voted most athletic by his classmates. Mr. Standridge attended West Georgia University where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in journalism and a Master's Degree in English and Special Education. As an undergraduate student he played basketball for West Georgia on an athletic scholarship. He is survived by his loving wife, Virgina C. Standridge of Smyrna, Georgia, and Brother Jeffrey L. Standridge of Geraldine, Alabama. Mr. Standridge had most recently been an adjuct Professor of English and Reading at Chattahoochee Tech in Smyrna, Georgia.
