Kenneth Mayes Roach, a beloved and esteemed member of the community, passed away peacefully at Roselane Health on September 16, 2023. Born on July 22, 1951, in Marietta, GA, Kenneth led a remarkable life filled with accomplishments, compassion, and dedication to his faith. Growing up in Cobb County, Kenneth attended Sprayberry High School and graduated in 1969. Soon after, he joined his family in managing the highly respected Roach Furniture, where he contributed his expertise to its success for many years. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, Kenneth obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Reinhardt College before embarking on a spiritual journey that would shape the course of his life. Driven by his deep-rooted faith, Kenneth pursued his Master's Degree in seminary at Luther Rice Seminary, where he excelled academically and earned recognition as a distinguished scholar. In addition to his academic achievements, he was honored to be named WHO's Who in Religion, a testament to his unwavering commitment to his calling. Following his fervor for spreading the teachings of Christianity, Kenneth took on the role of a respected professor at Antioch Bible College, where he nurtured the minds and souls of future religious leaders. Guided by his unwavering compassion, he then served as the pastor of Dalton Second Baptist in Dalton, GA, where he touched the lives of countless individuals through his inspiring sermons and unwavering support. Later, Kenneth's journey led him to Corner Baptist in Powder Springs, GA, where he continued to guide and uplift his congregation with great passion. His impact on the community extended further as he served as the devoted pastor of New Hope Baptist in Acworth, GA, sharing the love of God with his flock. Kenneth will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his love for wisdom, and his unwavering spirituality. His dedication to his family and congregation was evident through his words and actions, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Mr. Roach is survived by his wife, Susan Roach; daughter, Wendy (Nick) Roach Dikin; and granddaughter, Josie. Kenneth Mayes Roach will be profoundly missed by his loving family, devoted friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory serve as a guiding light for us all. Funeral Services will be 2:30pm, Sunday September 24th in the Marietta Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Foster and Rev. Charles Reece officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Marietta. The family will receive friends from 3:00pm-5:00pm Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the funeral home.
