His obituary: Harden, George. Mr. George Mitchell Mitch Harden, 59, Atlanta native and Marietta resident, died Friday, December 10, 2010. He was a champion athlete, accomplished outdoorsman, world traveler, rolling stone, best friend to many, and a close personal friend to Denzel Washington. The best son, brother, husband and father, who we love dearly. A graduate of Sprayberry High School, he retired in 2008 after 39 years in the electrical business. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert M. Harden and is survived by his mother, Betty S. Harden of Marietta; wife, Sandi Harden of Marietta; son and daughter-in-law, Mitch & Serena Harden of White Bluff, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Amy & Garrett Sanders of Marietta; sister and brother-in-law, Tammy & Bob Jones of Juliette, GA; and brother and sister-in-law, Stacey & Tanya Harden of Kathleen, GA. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15 at 11 a.m. at the Carmichael Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta with The Reverend Paul McCabe officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 14 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
