His obituary: Mr. Norris Miller, Jr., 65, was born in Marietta, GA at Kennestone Hospital on January 4, 1952. He passed away September 3, 2017 in Powder Springs, GA. Norris joined Liberty Hill Baptist Church at an early age, He worshiped and served their for many years from a child into adulthood.
He was educated in the Marietta City School System where he graduated from Marietta High School. He went to work with Southern Bell Printing for a number of years. He then went to Columbus, Ohio to school to become a licensed electrician. After returning to Georgia he climbed the ladder at Cobb EMC and helped integrate the companies employees. Norris' favorite career was construction. He had his own business and flourished in it greatly until he started having complications with his health. He had many things he liked. The first being watching Jimmy Swaggart. He really enjoyed it He enjoyed going fishing, watching the Atlanta Falcons, wrestling and watching the old westerns. Norris was preceded in death by his father, Norris Miller, Sr.; brothers, Rayfield and Roosevelt Miller. Norris was a man of great pride. He loved and adored his family. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Ramona Miller; children, Rodney Miller, Sr. and his wife Tracy of Woodstock, Clifton L. Miller of Marietta, and his only daughter, Sonya Manea Miller of Kennesaw. He also has 5 grandchildren, Tank (Rodney Miller, Jr.), Clifton Miller, Jr., Chelsey Renee Miller, Cara Lynn Miller and Kaden Coryell Carter. 2 nephews, 2 aunts and many cousins and extended family. Funeral services will be held Saturday Sept. 9 at 3 PM in the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Edward Gains officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends between the hours of 6 until 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
