His obituary: Michael Wayne Morton, Acworth resident. Michael Wayne Morton, of Acworth, died Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mayes Ward Funeral Home in Marietta with the Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Burial is in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta. Born in Cedartown, Mr. Morton attended Cedartown Grade School, and graduated from Sprayberry High School in Marietta. He attended Kennesaw State College and Mercer University. He was Baptist. He is survived by his mother, Alline N. Barton and step-father Albert L. Barton of Acworth; one sister, Mindy Goodman of Lexington, N.C.; one nephew; one aunt and one uncle. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mayes Ward Funeral Home in Marietta.
