His obituary: James Robert Hill, February 11, 1960 – June 28, 2009. Mr. James Robert Hill age 49 of Ellijay died Sunday June 28, 2009. Mr. Hill was born on February 11, 1960 in Atlanta, GA, grew up in Cobb County and graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1978. He was employed by Travel Centers of America in Cartersville as a Diesel Mechanic. Jimmy was a great outdoorsman, and loved hunting, camping, and particularly fishing. He fished Lake Blue Ridge & Allatoona often, seldom leaving empty handed. In his youth, he was a tremendous athlete and excelled in all sports. He devoted his life to helping others, and many people knew of his kind and generous nature. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Bernice Kirk Allison of Toccoa, GA and his paternal grandfather Jerome D. Hill of Smyrna, GA. Survivors include: Sons: Robert Anthony Hill, Christopher John Hill; Father and mother: Jimmy D. and Linda K. Hill, Ellijay, GA; Sisters and brothers–in–law: Angela H. and Jeff Tatum, Dacula, GA, Robin Stabell, Savannah, GA, Kristin H. and Jim Tate, Birmingham, AL; Paternal Grandmother, Dorothy Coleman, Tifton, GA; Aunts & Uncles: Sandra & Carl Eidson, Loganville, GA Jerry Hill, Lexington, KY, Michael Coleman, Tifton, GA, Deborah Coleman, Jacksonville, FL, Pamela Coleman, Macon, GA; Two nephews, three nieces, and numerous cousins. Graveside services will be held Thursday July 2, 2009 at 11am from the Rock Creek Church Cemetery with Dr. Trisha L. Senterfitt officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday July 1 from 7pm until 8:30pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
