His obituary: Douglas B. Bledsoe, 22, Georgia Tech senior. Douglas Byron Bledsoe, 22, of Marietta, died Sunday. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Piedmont Baptist Church in Marietta, with the Revs. Lewis Abbott and Stan Annandale officiating. The body will be at the church at 10 a.m. Burial will be 4 p.m. at Many Forks Baptist Church Cemetery in Young Harris. A native and lifelong resident of Marietta, Mr. Bledsoe was a 1989 graduate of Sprayberry High School. He was a senior at Georgia Tech, and was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents, Byron and Betty Bledsoe of Marietta; sister, Melinda Bledsoe of Los Cruces, New Mexico; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Brown of Young Harris; paternal grandmother, Virginia B. Lucas of Jonesborough, Tenn. Contributions can be made to Piedmont Baptist Church in memory of Doug Bledsoe. The family will receive friends from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.
