Mike Ash. Mike died on October 13, 2016.

His obituary: Ash, Michael Patrick, (September 9, 1969 – October 13, 2016). Michael Patrick Ash, aged 47 years, of Marietta, GA transitioned from this world at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13th, 2016 at the Kindred Hospital of Rome, GA after complications resulting from Alzheimer's Disease. Mike was born on Tuesday, September 9th, 1969 at 5:42 p.m. at Kennestone Hospital of Marietta, GA to Kenneth & Susan Ash. From the beginning he was a kind and caring person who taught his family more about life than anyone could. His virtues came naturally to him and his parents felt they were blessed with a very special gift. He was like an angel, and appropriately named Michael. Mike was a 1991 graduate of Sprayberry High School in Marietta, GA. He was employed by Chili's & Target. He was a lover of most sports and a passionate fanatic of the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the Atlanta Braves, and the Atlanta Falcons. He participated in the Special Olympics, excelling at softball, basketball, swimming, weight lifting, and volleyball. During his years of competition he earned more medals than we can count. Mike enjoyed dancing, playing the guitar, and singing his favorite Bon Jovi songs. His enthusiasm for life was expressed with energy and excitement as he'd say I can do that to any challenge. Mike never met a person he didn't like. He was a compassionate person who had a special sense about people and would find the good in everyone. He was warm-hearted and had a way of making strangers feel like friends. Everyone remembers his trademark smile and how contagious it was. He loved life. He was excited to do everything. He was a proud big brother and loved spending time with his family. Mike is survived by his parents, Kenneth Oscar & Susan Rebecca Ash of Marietta, GA; brother Jason Ash and sister-in-law Juliet Zamarra of Woodstock, GA; sister Kendra Smith and brother-in-law Nick Smith of Marietta, GA; his nephews and niece Jacob Zamarra of Fort Collins, CO; Skyler and Helena Ash of Woodstock GA; his high-school sweetheart and fiance, Leslie Tedeschi, of Marietta GA. A service in remembrance of Michael Patrick Ash will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, November the 4th, at The Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, 1815 Blackwell Rd, Marietta, GA 30066. For those who wish to view the service but cannot attend, the service will be streamed live online at http://www.transfiguration.com /media/parish-video1/sanctuary/. Following the service Mike's ashes will be interred at the Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114. All are welcome to join the family for the ceremonies.
