Her obituary: Leslie Tedeschi, June 1, 1971 – February 2, 2022. Leslie Marie Tedeschi, 50, received her real angel wings on Wednesday February 2, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Leslie was well known in her faith community of Transfiguration Catholic Church as well as the Marietta and Cobb County communities. Leslie was a Special Olympian traveling to Reno, NV Toronto, Canada and Anchorage, Alaska to compete. She was featured in People, Time, US News, Southern Living and Newsweek magazines not only for her ice skating and gymnastic accomplishments, but also for her career of 14 years working for Publix grocery store. She represented Special Olympics, appearing on Good Day Atlanta and was also interviewed by a local news channel while in Anchorage, Alaska during the National Special Olympics. She was truly the celebrity of her family. Leslie loved talking to people and had such an infectious smile. She never met a stranger. She loved to dance and be with her friends. Leslie and her fianceé Michael were always the hit of the dances they attended. She loved the Braves, Falcons, the color purple, butterflies and flowers. Her favorite sayings were Oh Boy! , Oh Brother , and It's in Jesus' hands now . Leslie was a real life angel that influenced and inspired all of us. Leslie was born on June 1, 1971 in Wheeling, WV to Vincent J. Tedeschi, Sr. and Dorothy Donahue Tedeschi. She was preceded in death by her Father and her fianceé Michael Ash. Surviving Leslie are her Mother and 5 siblings, Tina Hughes (John) of Marietta, GA Susan McPherson (John) of Mesquite, NV Vincent Tedeschi Jr. (Misty) of Holly Springs, GA Timothy Tedeschi (Marjorie) of Woodstock, GA and Camela Misencik (Tim) of Canton, GA and her many adoring nieces and nephews. OH BOY! Are we going to miss her !!! Visitation will be on Friday, February 18th, at 12:30 pm, at Transfiguration Catholic Church Marietta followed by the Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm. All friends and family are invited to a Reception in the Social Hall after Mass. The Mass will be live streamed on the Transfiguration website. In lieu of flowers donations in Leslie's name will graciously be accepted by check to The Chattooga Foundation 700 Trinity Church Rd. Canton, GA 30115 or Online to Special Olympics.org.
