His obituary: Laurence Sigurdson III, 24, Southern Polytechnic student. Laurence Larry Sigurdson III, 24, of Marietta died Saturday, July 8, 2000. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine's of Sienna Catholic Church, with the Rev. Martin Kalu officiating. An Alexandria, Ga., native, Mr. Sigurdson graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1994 and would have graduated in two weeks from Southern Polytechnic State University. He was an alter server for eight years and head alter server for three years at St. Catherine's. Survivors include his parents, Laurence Sigurdson Jr. and Janice Sigurdson of Acworth; two sisters, Cindy Briggs and Donna Carr, both of Woodstock; maternal grandmother, Vivian Broadbelt of Marietta; paternal grandmother, Rose Sigurdson of Shelby, Mont.; and nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta.
