Her obituary: Rachel Evelyn Vick, October 23, 1978 – October 24, 2025. Rachel Evelyn Vick, age 47 of Ball Ground, Georgia, passed away on Friday , October 24, 2025, at Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton, Georgia. Rachel was born in Marietta, Georgia and later made her home with her family in Ball Ground. She graduated from North Cobb High School in 2000. Active and spirited, Rachel participated in the Special Olympics, embracing community and challenge with enthusiasm. She held a deep love for music—especially classical—and found joy in gaming, spending time with her family and friends, and caring lovingly for her cats. Whether lost in a piece of music, immersed in a computer game, or simply sitting amongst those she loved, Rachel lived with warmth, connection, and genuine affection. She is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Lyle and Deborah Vick of Ball Ground; and her brother, Dewey David Vick, also of Ball Ground. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Darby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Sharp Mountain Baptist Church, with the Reverend Phillip Burt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery at Sharp Mountain Baptist Church. Rachel's legacy is one of bright spirit, steady love, and sincere enjoyment of life's simple pleasures. Though her voice is now silent, her song continues in the hearts of those she touched. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the Vick family.
