His obituary: John Buckwald. John Walter Buckwald, 27, of Marietta, died Sunday, July 17, 2011. Born in Hackettstown, NJ, John is the son of Edward and Diane Buckwald. He graduated from Sprayberry High School in 2002 and later earned an associate's degree in Automotive Technology and technical certificates in HVAC and Electrical Engineering from Chattahoochee Technical College. John received his pilot's license in 2008 and was happiest when flying. John is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rudolph and Florence Reib Buckwald; grandfather, Anton Oswald; and uncle, Richard Maziarski. Survivors include his parents, Edward and Diane Buckwald, Marietta; brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Katie Buckwald, Roswell; grandmother, Mildred Stempien Oswald, Wayne, NJ; uncles and aunts, Anton and Annie Oswald, Wayne, NJ, Carrollton and Bernadette Coughlin, Tampa, FL, Richard and Patricia Kane, Stewartsville, NJ, Mary Buchwald, Utah; many cousins and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, July 23, 2011, from 2-3:30 p.m. at Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Rd. Marietta, GA 30066, 770-422-1234.
