Skip Wells. Skip died while serving as a U.S Marine recruiter on July 16, 2015, as the result of a terrorist attack.
His obituary: Skip Wells, April 29, 1994 – July 16, 2015. Lance Corporal Skip Wells, age 21, of Marietta, passed away July 16, 2015. Skip was an E-3 in the United States Marines, having joined in Nov. 2014, and was with the 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve. He had received the National Defense Service Medal and an Certificate of Appreciation. He is survived by his mother, Cathy Wells; maternal grandparents, Patricia and Richard Trapanese; aunt, Lynn Trapanese and Sandy Jackson. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2pm from the main sanctuary of the Woodstock First Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Law officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM Friday and Saturday at the funeral home. Those who desire, in lieu of flowers, may make contributions to a Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank or to Marine's and Mickey at www.marinesandmickey.org.
