Brittany Shoemaker. Brittany died on April 5, 2019. No school portait of her could be found.

Her obituary: Brittany LeShea Shoemaker, September 22, 1994 – April 05, 2019. Brittany Shoemaker passed away April 5, 2019 at the young age of 24. A celebration of life service is planned for Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Lakeside Funeral Home located at 121 Claremore Dr., Woodstock, GA 30188. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and the service will begin at 12:00 PM. Brittany was born September 22, 1994 in St. Mary's, GA. She also lived in Virginia and Texas, and her final 13 years were spent in Marietta and Woodstock, Georgia. She is survived by her three children, Adalynn, Kasen, and Aiden Shoemaker, her mother, Brandi Tipps McLaws, stepfather David McLaws, father Wendell Shoemaker II, brother Wendell (Trey) Shoemaker III, sister Caitlin Shoemaker, grandparents Bob and Linda Tipps, grandmother Donna Carroll Johnson, grandfather Wendell Shoemaker Sr, grandmother Barbara Geraci, fiancée Tyler Palmer, and numerous other relatives and friends. While Brittany's death was unexpected at this time, for many years we feared her addiction might some day claim her life. However, we are grateful that when she died she was in a safe place and was with members of her family. It's impossible to completely capture the true essence of a person in an obituary, and especially someone whose adult life was largely defined by drug addiction. Many of her friends also lost their lives over drug use, while some others who weren't addicts quit associating with her. It's a shame that this last group of friends never really got to know the real Brittany. She was a warm, loving person with a good heart, sense of humor, and could and would talk to anyone, especially in an effort to help them in any way. This last trait was definitely inherited by her 6-year old daughter, Addie, who never meets a stranger. Brittany was loved dearly by her family despite the heartache her addiction brought to us all. We know that she is now in a better place and without pain. May God have mercy on her soul. If there are any of Brittany's friends reading this who are struggling from addiction, please know that every breath can be a fresh start. Know that thousands of families who have lost a loved one to this disease hope and pray that others facing this will not give up the fight. It's never too late! Please join our family this Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Lakeside Funeral Home to celebrate Brittany's life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a GoFundMe page for Brittany that has been set up by a dear friend to assist the family with funeral expenses, or to Abba House, a faith based treatment facility for women and children that was trying to help Brittany overcome her addiction, and was a blessing during her last few weeks of life. Lakeside Funeral Home, 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, GA 30188, Ph: 770-293-2757, is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
